Apple WWDC 2011, Paradise for Apple Fanboys and Developers

You read that right, the annual Apple WWDC always amaze me as a developer (maybe soon as a user too, hopefully).  The presentation from Steve Jobs is as great as usual. And as predicted by many people, they announced their new features.

The annual Apple World Wide Developer Conference 2011 held in San Fransisco. And yes, Steve Jobs (that looked so pale because of his sickness) came. The 3 point discussed in this conference are : Lion, iOs5, and iCloud.

LION

Lion is basically for Mac users. Full screen apps, Mission Control, New Face Tracking, Mac App Store, Resume, Auto Save, Air Drop, Mail, and else. What i notice was the new Resume and Auto Save function, now user don’t have to save their work anymore as Mac does it in background. And also, every application now remember their last condition, even after the device is off.

I don’t have Mac yet, so not really paying attention there. But something I notice that it won’t come out in usual DVD anymore, instead you can upgrade it via Mac App Store. Yes, it’s that simple. And one more, it only cost $29 now, which usually cost $129. Nice, huh?

iOS 5

This part is what really amaze me both as (future) user and (also future) developer. The new iOS 5 major release opens many doors of API for developer to play, which is 1500 new APIs and 200 new features for users. So, I’m just gonna mention  a few, such as the new Notifications (that really looks like Android style), Twitter integration, Reminder, iPhoto once click enhance, Camera shortcut key even when the device is password locked, Mail, and PC Free! now that we won’t rely on PC anymore that we can stick to our iPad or iPod or iPhone, Game Center, and iMessage (, which is the Apple Messaging, the Blackberry Messenger Challenger). Wow, and more to it, iOS 5 will support 3GS, iPhone 4, iPad 1/2, and iPod Touch (3rd gen or later).

iCloud

This basically changes almost every basic features in Apple devices. From Files, Contact, Calendar, Mail, to Photo now can be stored in a cloud. Everything in your iPhone will be sent to the cloud immediately. iCloud is more than a hard disk in the sky. iCloud stores your content, and wirelessly pushes it to all your devices.  This storage will work for iOS devices — AND mac and pcs too. Goodbye dropbox?

And that’s it folks, what didn’t come out as expected was the iMaps, and iPhone 5. Well, let just wait for that :)
